The University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria is one of the leading institutions in Austria to produce the finest talent for our healthcare system and industry. Research teams at the university have gained extensive scientific knowledge on neurological diseases and stroke rehabilitation in particular over decades.
Today, Rewellio and the university are announcing a comprehensive partnership to join forces on research activities. The aim is to develop new stroke therapy concepts and designs by utilizing affordable and mobile consumer electronic devices, especially but not limited to virtual reality (VR) headsets. Focus of the different participating disciplines is the rehabilitation of impairments in the hand and arm, cognition, vision and speech. A variety of exercises will be developed with the goal of achieving a connected and personalized approach across these disciplines for the individual patient.
Our founder and CEO, Georg Teufl, as an alumni of the institution himself is very excited about working together with the university: “I know that working with the trusted team and people I have known for a very long time will prove as a big advantage on achieving results effectively. This partnership will boost our ability to bring the rewellio stroke rehabilitation platform to market soon.”
We are excited to work with rewellio to support developing innovative therapy methods for the millions of stroke patients out there. If we can accelerate or improve the recovery process for these patients as a result of our research on this project, our mutual objectives are met.Bernhard Schwartz
