In this new podcast, rewellio’s very own Georg Teufl and Andy Gstoll have a conversation with Bill Gasiamis from RecoveryAfterStroke.com. Bill Gasiamis is actually on the road to recovery after stroke himself and is building a community for stroke survivors and their carers through his website. The reason for Bill doing this series of podcasts is because “1 in 6 people will experience a stroke in their lifetime and there is a lack of support for survivors when they leave the hospital” he says, “stroke recovery is a life long process that never stops”. We couldn’t agree more of course, which is why we sat down to have this chat with him.
In this episode, we are talking about rewellio’s goal of supporting both patients and therapists on their stroke rehabilitation journey. We explain the underlying idea of the rewellio app and the value of Virtual Reality in stroke rehabilitation. We further discuss how simple consumer electronics like tablets / iPads and VR headsets enable an enjoyable therapy experience and the measurement of the patient’s condition and progress made.
